Has Cate Blanchett ever had plastic surgery?

I can’t believe that Cate Blanchett is over 50 because to me, she looks incredible!

This Australian-born actress doesn’t know how to grow old and hence the plastic surgery rumors has been circling around.

Let’s be honest, I’m sure a high-profile celebrity like Cate is always looking for ways to reverse her aging…especially at her current age, so it is not too hard to understand why such rumors exist.

Today, I will try to look for evidence.

Before and After Photos

Let’s analyze and review some of Cate’s past and present photos to see if she’s ever gone under the knife.

Here is Cate at the “Gift” movie premiere.

You can see that her facial features are very natural looking here with fair white skin that doesn’t require much makeup. She does have a rather big nose tip and an obvious jawline. However, she has a long face shape, so it kind of balances out.

At 32 years of age, I think Cate looks quite mature for her age. This is the perfect shot to see the front of her nose. Nothing suspicious here.

This photo was taken at the UK London Movie Premier of “Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers”.

When Cate smiles, there are lines around her jaw area. These are known as smile lines or laugh lines. She has several of these, but I think they look kind of attractive.

She basically looks identical if you ask me. Just pay attention again to her nose, jawline, and even her chin. There’s nothing here suggesting that Cate had any form of cosmetic surgery. Quite frankly, I don’t even think she needs it!

Yes, Cate’s breasts are bigger here but I can assure you that she didn’t have a boob job. Well…in case you missed it…she was actually pregnant and gave birth to her second son, Roman.

In this picture, you can clearly see that Cate’s wrinkles and smile lines are becoming more visible. The crow’s feet are quite noticeable around her eyes.

The actress looks so different but refreshing with short hair and minimal makeup here. I bet you she’s been working hard though because those eye bags are really showing.

From this angle, you can tell that Cate is not trying to hide anything (as usual). The lines on her cheeks are still showing and the skin around her neck…well, no signs of a neck lift that’s for sure.

At 46 years of age, Cate still looks absolutely stunning. However, I’ll take extra notice of her eyes as those lines are nowhere to hide.

Here we see Cate at the Highland Center Hollywood for the 88th Academy Awards. This year’s Best Actress went to Brie Larson and you can almost see the disappointment on Cate”s face.

As of now, I still haven’t seen any work on her boobs. Cate’s upper body has literally remained the same over the years so there’s simply no way she’s had a boob job.

You’d have to wonder…how does Cate keep her body so fit and slim for this long? She’s had a handful of kids but her hips and waistline have never looked out of shape.

I just can’t help but wonder whether a tummy tuck or liposuction ever came in play.

What do you think?

This was a screenshot taken from Cate’s interview as the Giorgio Armani Global Beauty Ambassador. The dramatic differences on her face is on show here with, most notably, her fading smile lines.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that a facelift took place but I wouldn’t be surprised if she had a few needles around those cheeks.

Yes, I mean botox.

Cate Blanchett Before & After

What does Cate have to say about cosmetic surgery?

During an interview with Glamour, this sensitive question was brought up and here was her response:

I’m not interested in saying what people should and shouldn’t do. It depends on how people feel about themselves. I suppose personally if you do anything out of fear or to mask who you are, then that’s a bit scary. You’ve got to work with what you got…. I think the terrifying thing is you see all these people who go to the same cosmetic surgeon, and they end up, after a while, looking like everyone. And the people that we all talk about are people who are utterly individual.

Conclusion

Up until 2020 and early 2021, I couldn’t find any sufficient evidence to suggest that Cate had any work done whatsoever. We all know she loves her skincare products like Giorgio Armani and SK-II, for which she was also an ambassador for several years.

However, the alarm was raised for me in 2021 (see her latest photo above) as I could hardly see any lines or wrinkles on both her forehead and face cheeks. Of course, makeup might have played a role here and I’m sure there’s been some computer editing work done too.

But if you look closer, you can sort of see a slight plumpiness on her cheeks. Now whether it’s fillers or not, I’ll let you decide for yourself.
